Prep Enrolments 2017

Thursday, 5 May 2016

If you have a child who will be attending Spring Gully Primary School in Prep next year, you are most welcome to enrol at any time. Early enrolments assist us to put in place staffing, grade structures and facilities for next year. When enrolling your child, you will need to provide with the enrolment form:

1. A copy of the birth certificate (we can make copies of originals if necessary) and

2. A school entry immunisation certificate obtained from The Australian Childhood Immunisation Register (ACIR). Phone: 1800653809.

Reports and Interviews

Thursday, 5 May 2016

As usual, staff will dedicate numerous hours into compiling student reports over the coming weeks. I expect these to be sent home on Monday, 20th June. We will again be providing a formal opportunity for parents to discuss the progress of their child/children at Parent-Teacher Interviews. The interviews will be held from 3.30-6.00pm on Tuesday, 21st and Wednesday, 22nd June.

All parent-teacher interviews will need to be booked online, as has been the process recently. Online bookings details, including the access code, will be available in early June. For parents that don’t have access to the internet at home, at work, at a friend’s house or on their phones, a computer will be available at the office so that parents can still make their own bookings. Office staff will be able to assist you with this process and answer any questions you may have.

Meetings are strictly 15 minutes. If you require more time, please contact your teacher directly to make alternative arrangements.

State Budget Announcement

Thursday, 5 May 2016

I am also pleased to announce that our school will receive $217,000 in maintenance funding under the Planned Maintenance Program. This funding must be used to address buildings and infrastructure in poor condition as identified in our 2012 Condition Assessment Report. The allocation of our Planned Maintenance funding will be incorporated into the broader capital works project to allow us to do this. The planning for our project will include how to effectively spend this Planned Maintenance funding as part of our future capital works project.

This is an exciting time for our school community. I will be attending a briefing next week and will provide further information as it becomes available.

Traffic Issues

Thursday, 5 May 2016

Carmel is very alarmed at the behaviour of some people in vehicles during drop-off and pick-up times. Carmel can’t recall a time that our community has blatantly ignored road rules as much as they currently are. Please support the wonderful work that Carmel does and ensure that all of our children are safe. Read more...

UFS Pharmacies - Building a Healthier Community

Thursday, 28 April 2016

Every year we are invited to a cheque presentation for the amount of money that has been raised over the past twelve months. The amount relates to the number of UFS Pharmacies members that have nominated Spring Gully Primary School when joining, or renewing their annual memberships.  This year we had 115 members who nominated our school and we were presented with a cheque for $993.30. There is no limit on who can nominate the school, so please get your family and friends to join with UFS Pharmacies . UFS Pharmacies is a not-for-profit community enterprise that has provided health and wellbeing services to the Bendigo community for over 143 years. Read more...

Open Day/Grandparents Day – Advanced Warning

Thursday, 24 March 2016

As part of Education Week celebrations (May 15-21) we will once again be inviting our grandparents to school to celebrate the important role they play in the lives of our children.  If grandparents are unable to attend we would encourage a special friend to take their place.  This could be an auntie, uncle, cousin, family friend, etc.  More information will be available next term but in the meantime please get all grandparents to lock the following date into their calendars – Thursday, 19th May from 9am-1pm.  Grandparents are more than welcome to spend longer at school and enjoy lunch with their child/children.
