Welcome to Spring Gully Primary School.
Spring Gully Primary School, with a population of approximately 380 students, is situated in a picturesque urban area 5 kilometres from central Bendigo. The natural rural setting is complemented by close proximity to a state park, bushland, reserves, sporting ovals, tennis courts, bike and bushland trails.
At Spring Gully a peaceful, pleasant and safe learning environment is provided for all our students. We focus on building high self-esteem through successful educational programs. We believe that all children can learn, and we strive to foster in each child a desire to achieve their personal best, develop self-confidence and be sensitive to the needs of others.
The school community actively shares decision making and responsibilities to foster a nurturing environment based on programs that use the best in technology and teaching and learning practice. High academic standards are expected and specialist programs are offered in Library, Art, Music, Physical Education and German. The school wide IBM network and computer labs provide leading edge technology for all our students from Prep to Grade 6.
Spring Gully Primary School has a focus on catering for diversity for the learning needs of all students. There are targeted intensive intervention and extension programs for children at all levels of ability. Features of the school include a well-developed Peer Mediation program, positive approaches to student behaviour management, and parent involvement in the day-to-day curriculum programs. The curriculum covers the eight key learning areas, with an emphasis placed on English, Mathematics, and the Arts. Computer skill development is integrated through all curriculum areas, as well as receiving overt teaching in the school’s two labs.
Guaranteed enrolment is offered to neighbourhood children.
I look forward to welcoming new enrolments, and working with all students towards the future.
